    About This Project

White Hill Design Studio worked with the owners of Gleddoch House Hotel to undertake extensive improvement and development of the facility, including the construction of a Leisure Club, a new Swimming Pool and a 34 bedroom extension.

We provided design and technical services to manage the phased construction of the alterations whilst ensuring that the hotel facilities remained operational throughout the works.

Before the bedroom extension had been completed, Gleddoch House Hotel was gutted by fire in February 2004, leaving only the external walls standing. Following the fire, which did not affect the Leisure Club facilities, we worked with the client to ensure the completion of the bedroom wing was accelerated to allow the hotel to re-open quickly with a full range of facilities.

White Hill Design Studio LLP provided a comprehensive service covering the design, technical development, statutory approvals and project management of the hotel reinstatement.

We also worked with the client to develop new housing in the grounds of the hotel, securing full planning approval for a traditional courtyard design to create a development that maximised views across the Clyde to the Kilpatrick Hills.
